My name is Lydia Sevier and I have a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. As a black woman in this field, I've encountered unique challenges, but I've also developed a strong sense of resilience that has propelled me forward. I've always had a passion for blending creativity and innovation to solve complex problems, and biomedical engineering provides the perfect outlet for this. Throughout my academic journey, I've embraced challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. Whether it's tackling difficult coursework or navigating the intricacies of research projects, I've consistently demonstrated my ability to adapt and overcome obstacles. I believe my experiences as a black woman in STEM have sharpened my problem-solving skills and fostered a unique perspective that I bring to the table. I'm deeply committed to leveraging my background and expertise to contribute meaningfully to the field of biomedical engineering and make a positive impact on healthcare outcomes.
